WHO states opening up without controlled Covid-19 would be a ‘recipe for disaster’

Geneva: Countries with serious increase in the Covid-19 cases must prevent certain explosive events, as starting up without taking control on Covid-19 would be a recipe of disaster, said by the World Health Organization.
WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on countries to persist with restrictions in tackling Coronavirus.
Tedros noted that many people are getting exhausted of following restrictions and want to return to normality after eight months of the pandemic.
While the WHO fully supports the efforts of countries reviving the economy and society, they also added,” We want to see children returning to school and people returning to workplaces, but we want to see it done safely.”
“Explosive outbreaks” have been linked to gatherings of people at stadiums, nightclubs, places of worship and other crowds, where the respiratory virus can spread easily among clusters of people, states Tedros.
“No country can just pretend the pandemic is over. The reality is this virus spreads easily.” He added.
As the Covid-19 cases are outpouring with the numbers, the focus has been shifted to India which has turned the first and only country in the world to report 80,000 cases in a single day.
Globally 25,377,704 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19. While more than 17,700,781 have recovered and unfortunately 850,149 have died so far. The US remains the worst hit nation with 6,173,229 cases, followed by Brazil with 3,862,311. India soars with 3,694,878 cases.
