Bareilly: In a shocking incident, a class 8 student raped a six-year-old girl after he lured her with chocolates in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused, a class 8 student, convinced the girl to play at his home while she was playing outside her residence.

According to a report, the boy gave chocolates to the victim and managed to bring her home and allegedly raped her at the roof of his house.

The crime took place in Gola village of the district. “The accused was known to the victim. The parents of the girl were in shock after learning that the boy they know could commit such a crime,” said DP Tiwari Station House Officer (SHO) of the Gola Police Station.

The accused has been booked under Section 372(rape) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The medical examination of the victim has confirmed sexual assault. According to doctors, the condition of the girl is stable. The accused has been detained and will be sent to juvenile home since he is a minor.

Quoting a police source, the report said that the accused boy had a habit of watching pornographic content on his mobile phone. He also indulged in watching porn along with his friend.

“The accused committed the crime due to excessive anxiety. Such videos are easily available and young men often fall prey to such content,” said the police officer.

In a similar incident, a four-year-old girl was raped by a 32-year-old man, who was the neighbour of the victim, in Hyderabad area of the district.

The accused, a father of three children, was said to be in an inebriated condition when he committed the crime. He also set the victim’s house on fire after her parents filed a police complaint.
