Two students drown in Kaveri River at Dubare

Madikeri: In a tragic incident reported from Dubare near Madikeri, two students who had come for picnicking here, died after drowning in the Kaveri River on Wednesday evening.

The deceased students have been identified as Shreyas and Lenin, students of IXth and Xth grader respectively in a private school in Gonikopala.

Shreyas and Lenin were part of a group of 39 students who had come for picnicking along with their teachers to Dubare. Shreyas and Lenin entered the waters and due to the force of the water both of them were washed away.

Dubare lifeguards them pulled the bodies of the two students out of the river.

Local police reached the spot and registered a case in this regard.
