The Ancient Times Biren Singh Is New CM Of Manipur

Manipur :Nongthombam Biren Singh, 56, was sworn in as the state’s first chief minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday in Imphal. Footballer-turned-journalist-turned-politician is an old familiar in Manipur. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed its first-ever government in Manipur under the leadership of N. Biren Singh who was invited by governor Najma Heptulla on Tuesday evening. Singh, iwas was sworn on Wednesday Although BJP President Amit Shah and Central Minister Venkaiah Naid was likely to be present in the swearing-in-ceremony, they could not reach Manipur as the aircraft carrying them faced engine problem. However  Some of the other ministers who took oath are: Th Biswajit of the BJP, L Jayantakumar of the NPP, Karan Shyam of LJP, L Haokip of NPP, N Koyisi of NPP, Losie Dikho of NPF, Th Shyamkumar who won on Congress ticket from Andro Shyamkumar has defected to the BJP and is being sworn-in the cabinet. It may be noted that  Joykumar Singh of the National People’s Party was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister at the Raj Bhawan in Imphal.
