Lalbagh flower show in Bengaluru ends with record collection of Rs 3.98 crore

Witnessing a flood of visitors towards the weekend and on Tuesday, the annual Independence Day flower show – 2023 at the Glass House of Lalbagh in Karnataka capital Bengaluru has set a record in terms of gate collection according to the horticulture officials.

The 12-day show, which ended on Tuesday, resulted in the collection of a whopping Rs 3.98 crore revenue despite a slump in the number of visitors by around one lakh compared to the previous year’s show.

M Jagadeesh, joint director of horticulture, said, “In the last 12 days as many as 8.2 lakh people have visited the flower show bringing in the revenue of almost Rs 4 crore. But during the last Independence Day themed around late Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar, we had seen a record number of visitors with 9.5 lakh footfall. However, the revenue was only Rs 3.3 crore during then.”

This year, the horticulture department themed the flower show on the construction of Vidhana Soudha and the life of former CM Kengal HanumanthaiaOfficials revealed that systematic and meticulous planning has resulted in the successful completion of the show.
