Justice L Narayana Swamy Appointed as Acting Chief Justice Of Karnataka HC

The Centre has notified the appointment of Justice L Narayana Swamy as the Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. The appointment comes in the wake of the elevation of the current Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari to the Supreme Court.
Justice Swamy enrolled as an Advocate in 1987 and went on to practice in the high court. He was appointed as an additional judge of the high court in July, 2007 and was made permanent in April, 2009. He will now take charge as the Chief Justice of the high court, with Justice Maheshwari set to be sworn in as a Supreme Court judge tomorrow.
