INTER-CLUB BOXING TOURNAMENT IN BANGALORE

Bangalore witnessed a one day boxing tournament on 1st May from 4 in the evening at Decathlon Chikkajala, Bellary road

The event was called as Satya Sai Inter Club Boxing Championship which was organised by Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association(KABA) in association with Decathlon.The reason for the venue to be Decathlon was to give a boost to the youth and the public to support their kids in the field of sports.

The event witnessed over 70 participants and 7 clubs participating with a crowd of 300 to cheer the upcoming boxers.

The jury for the event was Cpt. Narayanan who won the first ever international medal for India at Commonwealth, Cpt. Amaladas who is a Former olympian, a Dronacharya awardee and also a former coach for Sports authority of Karnataka(SAK) , Former World champion Mr Danasanjan who has represented India at 16 different international events was under the managing committee accompanied with Mr Satya Sai who is the present treasurer for the KABA.

The event had participants from 09-28 years and had both male and female boxers and spanned across three categories namely Sub -juniors, Juniors and Seniors.

The highlights of the match was the bout of small teeny tiny kids of age 9-11 who were a treat to watch and the knockout match of a 17 year old Mohd Rayyan who took over his opponent in just 20 second and also claimed gold hails from SAK who is trained by Mr Sourav Guha.

The 17 year old when asked how he felt like to be the quickest winner who floated like a butterfly and sting like a bee in the ring, he replied , I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” and he did what he told emerging as one of the scientific boxer.

The event was completed by 10 in the night by which every club had at least bagged 2 medals which was followed by vote of thanks.

The event was all smiles and joy.
