I will contest against Narendra Modi from Varanasi: Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad
Meerut: Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad on Wednesday announced that he will contest the Lok Sabha Election against Narendra Modi from Varanasi. He was speaking to NDTV from a hospital he is admitted in following his arrest for violation of code of conduct.
Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi called on the Bahujan Samaj leader in the hospital and spoke to him for about 30 mins in a closed door meeting.
Chandrashekhar Azad was taken into custody by police on Tuesday for violating the model code of conduct.
Chandrashekhar termed Narendra Modi as ‘Dictator’ and added that he will not let PM Modi win easily.
On being asked if he will support Congress if Rahul Gandhi approaches him, he added that anybody who wills to defeat Modi is welcome to come and support him.
However, he cleared that he will not approach or seek support from any political party but anyone willing to support him in defeating PM Modi will be welcomed.
On being asked about seeking support from Akhilesh Yadav or Mayavati, he said “It is for them to support me if they want to defeat Modi”.
“I am not bothered about who supports me or not I will contest against Modi and will not let him win” the Bahujan Samaj leader said.
