Gold seized from passenger at Hyderabad Airport

Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport seized about 1.2 kg of gold from a passenger. According to officials, the passenger boarded an Air India flight bound for Mumbai from Chennai via Hyderabad.

“The flight actually arrived from Colombo to Chennai and later was flying from its domestic leg between Chennai and Mumbai.
The passenger boarded the aircraft at Chennai and collected the gold already kept in the flight by some persons. He then concealed it on his body when the officials on suspicion caught him,” the Customs officials said.

The smuggled gold, valued at Rs 38 lakh, was seized from the passenger and further investigation is on
