2nd PUC repeaters will be promoted by awarding passing marks: Karnataka govt to HC

BENGALURU: The Karnataka government on Monday informed the high court that all repeaters, including those private candidates who had failed in the last year’s 2nd PUC examination, will be promoted by awarding passing marks and five grace marks.

For fresh candidates who are being promoted without examination, the court was told that 45 per cent marks each will be on the basis of their performance in SSLC and 1 year PUC and 10 per cent marks will be vis-a-vis regarding 2nd PUC assessment and the results will be declared before July 31, 2021 in terms of the Supreme Court’s order. On the issue of fresh private candidates, the court was told that the examination will be conducted before August 31, 2021 and results will be declared on or before September 20, 2021.

Recording all these, a division bench headed by Justice BV Nagarathna disposed of the PIL filed by one SV Singre Gowda secretary/, managing trustee of Jnanamandira Education Trust, Bengaluru.
Petitioner had claimed that repeaters/ failed 2nd PUC candidates are being forced to write the examination after the easing of Covid situation, whereas fresh candidates have been promoted without any examination, on the strength of their 1st PUC marks and the same is discriminatory.

The Ancient Times

Because we’re journalists, we’re impatient. We want to gather the news as quickly as possible, using any technological resource available. And when we’re as sure of the story as we can be, we want to share it immediately, in whatever way reaches the most people. The Internet didn’t plant these ideas in our heads. We’ve always been this way.
